Ted the Shed is now available to buy at the gift shop at York Gate Garden, Adel, Leeds.
It’s a place close to my heart, perhaps because there is a (modest) echo with Ted the Shed, the story of our own family gardening project.
York Gate Garden was created between 1951 and 1994 by one family, Frederick and Sybil Spencer, and their son Robin. They had no formal training in horticulture but in their spare time, turned one acre of farmland in Adel, Leeds, into a beautiful Arts and Crafts style garden. The family have all passed away now, and the garden is managed by the charity Perennial.
Do pay this magical garden a visit. It is an enchanting place to wander. Gardeners will find plenty of inspiration and there is a superb cafe/restaurant. Check for opening hours before you travel.
